Classes

I started classes yesterday. I had engineering yesterday morning, introduction to native american studies (or "native studies" as my professor likes to call it) and stupid english yesterday afternoon. English was incredibly boring; we learned that there has to be a subject and a verb in a sentence. WOW BECAUSE I DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW THAT. Engineering is going to be fun and native american studies is going to be haaaarrrrdddd. But that's okay because I'll survive. I had math this afternoon and we went over things I learned in my first year of algebra (eighth grade). So, we shall see what becomes of all this. As of now, I am off to do my homework. On a Friday night. Because I have nothing else to do until 22 (10:00 for all of you who don't use awesome time).

Soliciting

The RAs (Resident Advisors) in this building are Vince and Erica and when my roommate and I were walking from the bike rack to our room, Vince runs up behind us:

Vince: Are you guys residents here?
(We obviously thought he was kidding)
Me: No
Vince: Are you part of an organization?
Me: No...
(he walks in front of us)
Vince: Oh man, I totally didn't recognize you guys, I thought you were solicitors. My glasses don't work very well at night.

In other news... we went to this downtown thing earlier where there was a band playing and they were handing out free stuff and one of the things we got was a bottle opener. Now THAT'S not suggestive at all.

Books

Yesterday I went to pick up my books because I did a book registration thing online before I came here. I walk up to the counter and she brings me the box with my books in it and the paper inside says that three out of my four classes worth of books weren't there. That was great. So I went to the bookstore today to get the rest of them and they didn't have any used math books so I had to pay full price for that and they still didn't have my intro to civil engineering book so I have to go back again tomorrow or sometime later to get that one.

I'm in college

I'm in my dorm now. It's not yet as messy as my room but give it time, I'm sure it will be eventually. I think one of my roommates died or something; she hasn't been here all day but I saw her earlier for a second. Hmm, I wonder what she's doing.

Mark's philosophy is "drill now, ask later" in regards to putting holes in the walls. I might just do that except I don't want to get in TOO much trouble on my first day here...

The bathrooms are on the first and third floors of this building and I'm on the second. It's really lame and I decided I'm just going to use the guys' bathroom. Not really. We should make an agreement on our floor, or maybe in our building, that the bathrooms should be co-ed. That would be nice.

Anyway, I have to unpack. Yay.

I go to college

So I'm leaving on Saturday for Davis and I haven't exactly finished packing yet... whoops. I'll get on that sometime or another. I basically have all the things that I'm taking with me already packed, but I have to clean out the rest so my sister can have my room.

As for my feelings towards college, I'm excited and I can't wait to leave. It's kind of really lame that I start way later than all of my friends. That also means I get out after them which is also lame.
